Ward Elevated to Shareholder Role at BPS
Bauknight Pietras & Stormer (BPS) has announced that David Ward has been named a shareholder in the firm effective January 1, 2024. The new role comes with expanded leadership responsibilities for the South Carolina-based accounting and tax consultancy firm.
BPS currently has 10 shareholders.
Ward joined BPS in 2006. In addition to directing BPS’ audit and assurance practice, he is a lead audit professional on the BPS property and casualty insurance team, which includes regional and national commercial carriers, mutual insurers, captive insurance, reciprocals, and risk retention groups domiciled throughout the United States. This specialty practice area has been a significant driver of BPS’ growth in recent years, the company said.
BPS added that Ward plays a key role in the company’s success in the captive industry. He consults on a national basis with clients on the feasibility, formation, operations, and governance of captives. Ward is a member of captive insurance associations in South Carolina, North Carolina and Vermont.
Commenting on the announcement, Ward said, “BPS has achieved tremendous success over the last 30 years, and I am both humbled and honoured to join the shareholder group at the firm. I look forward to providing leadership to our team, continuing to serve our loyal clients, and tackling whatever challenges and opportunities lie ahead.”
Ward’s clientele also includes energy infrastructure, construction and distribution companies, as well as associations, non-profits and employee benefit plans. He provides guidance to clients on internal controls, best practices, and complex accounting matters.
