North Carolina captive leaders to hold strategy session
The North Carolina Captive Insurance Association is set to chart a course for the industry over the next five years when it holds a strategic planning session this month.
The association has also set the dates for its annual conference in May.
The board of the NCCIA will meet on January 16-17 in Durham for a two-day strategic planning session. The initiative will replace the strategic plan developed in 2015. That plan was originally due to be updated in 2020, but was postponed due to the pandemic, according to the NCCIA’s December newsletter.
“That plan largely foresaw the domicile’s growth from the new kid on the block to the third largest captive domicile in the United States,” the newsletter added.
Tom Adams (pictured), NCCIA president and chief executive officer, added: “While no-one except the facilitator truly enjoys locking themselves in a room for a couple days to develop a plan, our domicile's growth is witness to the benefits of having spent that time in 2015.”
The NCCIA also said it will hold its annual conference from May 14-17 in Uptown Charlotte.
The conference will offer educational sessions, networking opportunities, and insights from industry leaders.
The newsletter said sponsorship opportunities are almost fully booked, and conference registration will open on January 28. Hotel reservations at the Sheraton and Meridian Hotels are already available through NCCIA's website.
