Berkshire Hathaway hires casualty lead in UK
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has appointed Caroline Alder-Smurthwaite as head of general casualty in the UK.
Alder-Smurthwaite joins from Chubb, where she spent 12 years, most recently serving as London corporate casualty manager. She has more than two decades of underwriting experience, spanning a range of customers, including corporate and large multinational captive accounts.
Alder-Smurthwaite began her career on the claims side of the business at Gerling Insurance.
