Registration opens for western captives conference

Registration for the Western Region Captive Insurance annual conference has opened, organisers said today.

Themed "Captives Unleashed: More Valuable Than Ever", the conference is from April 15 to 17 at The Tulsa Club, Curio Collection by Hilton, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Education sessions include Cell Captives, Updates on Insurance Taxation, Claims Best Practices, Current IRS Captive Enforcement Actions, ESG Initiatives and the popular Regulator Roundup featuring representatives from several states, and an interactive Hot Topics session.

Session submissions are welcomed and should be submitted online by February 25.

“There are many reasons to attend this year’s WRCIC including an excellent education programme, a schedule that allows for networking, meetings, and time to visit the exhibits as well as fantastic special events,” said WRCIC Chairwoman Renea Louie (pictured) of Pro Group Captive Management Services. “Last year the event sold out and we fully expect the same this year.”

She added: “We are very excited to have multiple Commissioners of Insurance in attendance and special sessions planned with them.

“Another key feature for attendees is more than 25 regulators from across the nation will be attending, allowing the attendees direct access for meetings and collaboration all week.”

The conference will offer Continuing Education Credits on many sessions, provided by The International Centre for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE), CLE, and CEU. This ensures that participants maximise the value of their time and investment attending.

Monday's agenda includes a golf tournament, a Captives 101 session, and an opening networking session.

Regional Collaboration and Business Focus provides a unique platform for professionals to share ideas, discuss challenges, and gain insights into the captive insurance industry.

“We are honoured to announce the featured keynote speaker for the upcoming conference. Oklahoma Commissioner Glen Mulready will share insights, adding a valuable perspective to the conference.” said Heather McClure of Helio Risk. “We are so pleased to be a member of WRCIC and look forward to knocking it out of the park for the industry, welcoming you all to Tulsa.”

State board and membership meetings will also be on tap, in addition to the main conference events. Each state within the WRCIC will conduct its own annual board and membership meetings onsite. The staggered meeting times allow members and prospects of multiple state associations to attend each state meeting throughout the week.

For those eager to be part of this dynamic conference and latest developments in captive insurance, early registration is encouraged. The early bird rate is offered through February 29, 2024. Visit WRCIC 2024 Annual Conference to register.
