Provost awarded Karen Cutts Visionary award

The National Risk Retention Association (NRRA) has awarded this year’s Karen Cutts Visionary Award to David Provost, who retired from the Vermont Department of Insurance earlier this year.

The award was presented at the NRRA’s annual conference.

As deputy commissioner of Vermont’s Captive Insurance Division, Provost was responsible for the regulation of captive insurance companies and risk retention groups chartered in Vermont.

The Karen Cutts Visionary Award is given each year to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the risk retention group and purchasing group liability insurance industry. Cutts was publisher and founding managing editor of the Risk Retention Reporter and a leading voice in the industry for a quarter-century. She passed away in 2010.
