RT Specialty makes leadership changes
Ryan Turner Specialty, the wholesale broking specialty of Ryan Specialty, has announced the following leadership team appointments. These leadership positions are effective October 1, 2024.
The company said that the appointments demonstrate the depth of talent at RT Specialty while positioning the firm for continued advancement and success.
• Seth Johnson will become chief executive of RT Binding Authority. Johnson has been with RT Specialty since 2019 when he joined the firm through the Atlantic Specialty Lines acquisition and has been president of RT Binding since 2021. RT Binding is composed of three underwriting specialties including commercial lines, personal lines and transportation.
• Jonathan Reiner will become chief executive of RT Specialty’s National Professional and Executive Liability Practice (RT ProExec). Rachelle Best, Chris Pass and Patrick Richmond will remain as presidents of RT ProExec. Reiner has been with RT Specialty since its inception in 2010 and will continue in his role as a broker / team leader of his brokerage production team.
• Hugh Mooney will become president of RT Specialty’s National Property Practice and maintains his role as regional executive vice president. Brenda Austenfeld will remain as chief executive of RT National Property. Mooney joined RT Specialty with the acquisition of All Risks in 2020 and has been a wholesale insurance expert for over two decades.
• Ryan Grimes will become president of RT Specialty’s National Casualty Practice and maintains his role as regional executive vice president. Chris Houska will remain as chief executive of RT National Casualty. Grimes joined RT Specialty with the acquisition of All Risks in 2020 and has been a wholesale insurance expert for over two decades.
• Leah Ohodnicki will assume the newly created role of executive vice president, Carrier Relations, and will lead the firm’s efforts with RT Specialty’s carrier trading partners. Ohodnicki joins from Ethos P&C and has nineteen years of insurance industry experience.
• Marya Propis will remain executive vice president, retail distribution, a position she has held for nearly three years. Propis has been working with the executive leadership team and national practice leaders, as well as the brokerage and underwriting field teams to further expand its market presence and deepen its relationships with retail and network clients.
• Tim Lomas will become executive vice president, finance. Lomas has been with RT Specialty for almost nine years and has made a number of contributions to RT Specialty during this time, including development of comprehensive production tools to support retail client and market relationships. In his new role, he will expand into strategic responsibilities while maintaining his commitment to process improvement and client service.
