DARAG Group, the legacy acquirer, has appointed Elliott Goss as group head of claims.
Goss will take up his post on August 17 and will be based in London.
Goss has over 17 years of re/insurance claims experience, specialising in long tail classes such as international casualty. He was most recently head of casualty and specialty claims at Tokio Marine Kiln, where he led the team in handling large and complex losses and portfolio management since 2018.
Before that he was at Ark Syndicate Management, which he joined in 2012 as senior claims adjuster, before progressing to head of delegated and US casualty claims. He began his insurance career as claims consultant at Tawa Management Limited in 2003.
Tom Booth, chief executive at DARAG, emphasised the importance of maintaining an expert, efficient, agile and proactive claims function for a legacy provider. “We are entrusted with maintaining the promise of efficient and speedy claims handling throughout the duration of policies to our partners’ insureds,” he explained. “As DARAG continues to expand globally, we are therefore investing in growing our scalable and specialist claims team to serve all local markets.”
