Keystone partners with Cogeris

Medical malpractice insurer Keystone Mutual Insurance has entered into a captive agency alliance with a newly launched insurance agency Cogeris Insurance Group.

In addition to Keystone Mutual as the preferred med-mal insurance, Cogeris offers a full portfolio of professional insurance specialised for Missouri physicians.

“A successful medical practice today has to have an insurance partner that they can trust and who understands the changeable environment for physicians,” said Dr. Robert McMahon, a medical doctor, attorney and former president of the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society. “Cogeris is fulfilling a need that is long overdue in the Missouri market with their combination of experience and wide variety of specialized insurance products.”

Jim Bowlin, who leads Cogeris and Keystone Mutual, said: “With Cogeris, we have gathered the best minds and policy options in insurance – all with an earnest desire to best serve Missouri physicians. It is the only agency in the region to focus exclusively on the insurance needs of medical professionals.”

Cogeris was launched using private funding and its directors include McMahon, Bowlin, and Craig McPartlin, chief financial officer of Keystone Mutual.
