Kirkland & Ellis hires Parimah Hassouri as it builds up insurance business

Kirkland & Ellis has hired Parimah Hassouri as a partner in the corporate practice group in New York.

She joins fellow recent appointment Rajab Abbassi, who is also in New York, with the two partners bolstering Kirkland’s ability to serve clients on complex insurance transactions and insurance regulatory matters.

Hassouri was formerly a partner in the New York office of McDermott, Will & Emery, and has advised on the formation and licensing of insurance companies, insurance intermediaries and captive insurers.

She has also represented a broad range of clients operating in the life, health, property and casualty, financial guaranty, mortgage guaranty and title insurance industries. She has helped private equity funds and other sponsors acquire and divest insurers and insurance-related entities.

Abbassi said Hassouri’s experience with the insurance industry will be a huge benefit to the group’s clients as it seeks to grow its business in the sector.
