South Carolina captive conference set for September

The South Carolina Captive Insurance Association will hold its annual executive educational conference from September 17-19 in Charleston, South Carolina.

Registration for the conference is now open. It will take place at the Hyatt Place/Sterling Hall and kicks off with the Captive Academy on September 17 from 11am to 4pm, an interactive seminar providing insights into various aspects of captives in South Carolina. Attendees must register separately for this session.

Among the highlights of the conference are a keynote address by author and motivational speaker Steve Gilliland and a session on "Leveraging Your Captive's Prior Success To Navigate an Uncertain Environment" featuring Mike Meehan of Milliman, Lee Scott of Biltmore, Carl Terzer of CapVisor Associates and Anne Marie Towle of Hylant.

Other sessions include "Captive Tax Developments" with a panel consisting of Allan Autry of Johnson Lambert, Ben Glenn of Bauknight Pietras & Stormer and Brandon Keim of Frazer Ryan Goldberg & Arnold.

The final session will be "Navigating the Intersection of Politics and Finance: A Deep Dive into the Economic Implications of the Upcoming US Presidential Election" with Gary Greene and Daniel Pugh of Wellspring Financial Solutions of Raymond James.

Other details of the agenda can be found here. For more information and to register, members can log in to access member pricing. Non-members can also register online. Early booking for the hotel is encouraged to secure accommodations at the conference rate. For more details, visit the SCCIA website.

A special registration offer is available for captive owners: the first captive owner pays the regular registration rate, while the second owner from the same organisation attends for free. Eligible participants are employees of parent corporations currently insured by a captive or considering forming one. Captive management firms that sponsor or own cell captives do not qualify for this offer. For registration details, members must log in to receive member pricing.

Accommodations can be booked at the Hyatt Place with the SCCIA rate of $249 per night, plus tax. Reservations can be made here or by calling (800) 993–4751 using the code G-CAPT.
