VCIA seeks fresh session ideas for 2026 Annual Conference

The organisers of the 2026 Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) annual conference are now accepting submissions for session & discussion group topics.

Those wishing to present must submit a substantive session proposal that goes beyond a basic topic to include methodology, key takeaways, and implementation details. Multiple submissions are accepted, but no sales pitches. The topic ideas must be intended for world class captive education.

The deadline for the submissions is the end of October 10th.

The VCIA said that it: “welcomes fresh, innovative content, extensively outlined, with engaging creative session formats that emphasise active learning, interaction, and inclusive participation. We seek diverse, talented, emerging and seasoned voices to share at America’s largest captive insurance event.”

Successful submissions should be thorough and address the latest issues facing captive insurance and provide concrete takeaways. Content should include real case studies and relevant, up-to-date data.

As the VCIA charts its and the Captive Industry’s path for the next 40 years, it said that it wants the 2026 program to include:

· Topics for existing captives, use of reinsurance, "next steps" for established captives, etc.

· Topics for young professionals and captive basics

· Captives 301 advanced level sessions on particular captive coverages like medical stop loss, cyber or property

· Topics directed at different industry segments and captive types beyond pure captive

· New technologies within the insurance industry that will drive the future of risk management

· Professional development topics which are relevant to those in the industry
