World Domicile Update 2026 now available online!

The 2026 edition of the World Domicile Update is now live and can be viewed here.

This edition features statistics on 78 captive insurance domiciles around the world, including information on captive numbers, 2025 new formations, captive gross written premium and captive assets under management, with a comparison against how these compared to 2024.

Captive numbers in this edition are broken down where possible by type of captive, including pure, group and sponsored captives, with a separate section analysing the number of individual cell captives by domicile.

From these statistics we provide cumulative global and regional captive data estimates, and also rank domiciles against various metrics.

There is also a 2026 domicile update in this edition, to catch up with how different domiciles have started Q1 and Q2 of this year.

Alongside the World Domicile Update, this digital edition also features an expanded captive manager survey, produced in association with Pinnacle Actuarial Resources.

The survey was this year opened up to more managers working at all levels, with responses broken down by demographic, to get a more nuanced look at the differing views of the profession and the state of the market.
