Marsh appoints US cyber risk consulting leader
Marsh has appointed Reid Sawyer as US cyber risk consulting leader.
He is based in Chicago, and reports to Brannan Johnston, US strategic risk consulting practice leader.
Sawyer will lead the strategy and delivery of Marsh’s cybersecurity consulting services in the US, alongside the cyber insurance brokerage team, offering clients a unified cyber risk management approach.
Sawyer brings 25 years of experience in risk identification and management. Prior to joining Marsh he led JLT’s emerging risks group, and he spent more than 20 years with the US Army acting as a senior advisor on emerging risk trends. He served in Special Operations forces and founded the US Army’s premier strategy group on counterterrorism.
Johnston said: “Clients are facing deeply challenging and complex cyber risks. Reid’s extensive experience advising the military and business leaders on emerging risk trends and his keen analytical insight will further enhance Marsh’s ability to support our clients with cyber risk solutions.”
Sawyer added: “Cyber risk affects almost every aspect of a business today, and it is imperative that organisations evaluate its impact across their value chains to enable strategic risk decisions.”
