Missouri DCI head pitches for captives
Missouri has made a strong pitch for companies to domicile in the state. In a video posted by the Missouri Department of Commerce & Insurance, Chlora Lindley-Myers, its director and 2023 president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, invites companies to contact Missouri captive program manager Sam Komo.
“In Missouri we’re known as the ‘show me’ state,” Lindley-Myers says in the video. “That’s more than a state motto. What that means is we believe in doing more than just saying we can do something. We show you we can. “When it comes to the ‘show me’ captive program, we believe in supporting our business community and providing options for them to manage their risks.”
Myers goes on to urge businesses to look beyond just the number of captives in a state.
“In Missouri, we look at the strength and success of companies that have domiciled here. The companies that have captives in Missouri are strong and successful and our team is devoted to helping them protect that success,” she said.
“It’s great for business, and it’s great for Missouri.”
In a post on LinkedIn, Komo welcomed the video and the DCI learship’s “ongoing support” for the state’s captive insurance industry.
