VCIA upbeat after 2022 growth

The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) has reported that it had a good year in 2022, with membership up.

In its 2022 Impact Report the association said that VCIA membership in 2022 increased by 7% and its membership now includes 256 captive owners, 100 associates and 20 affiliates.

Over the course of 2022 more than 1,900 participants attended VCIA events.

In a message to members VCIA president Kevin Mead said: “I have one year under my belt as VCIA President, and the old industry saying—“if you’ve seen one captive, then you’ve only seen one captive”—deserves repeating. If this year’s taught me anything, it’s how diverse and dynamic VCIA programming can be, as well as how wide-ranging member/stakeholder needs and challenges are.

“I recently returned from our landmark Mexico City Trade Mission, which showcased VCIA’s versatility and expanding impact. That trip embodies the promise of VCIA, and with this 2022 Impact Report, all signs point to association growth, industry influence, and standard-bearing legislative advocacy.”
