Bermuda Captive Conference set to welcome more than 530 delegates

The Bermuda Captive Conference (BCC) is expected to attract more than 530 delegates when it returns to Hamilton this week from 1-3 June, as the event enters its 22nd year under the theme Unlocking Markets. Commanding Risk.

Hosted by the Bermuda Captive Network (BCN) at the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club, the conference will bring together captive owners, regulators, risk managers, brokers and service providers from across the global captive insurance market.

This year’s programme will feature 65 speakers across 15 sessions, with topics ranging from captive governance and alternative risk transfer to artificial intelligence, economic uncertainty and emerging market opportunities. Organisers said the theme reflects the growing role captives are playing as organisations navigate geopolitical, economic and technological challenges.

According to BCN, Bermuda was at the end of 2024 home to more than 630 captive insurance companies writing $34 billion in gross written premium and holding $156 billion in assets.

Conference highlights will include a dedicated captive owner programme, the presentation of the 2026 Fred Reiss Lifetime Achievement Award, inductions into the Bermuda Captive Hall of Fame and an update on the Bermuda Captive Network Internship Programme. The conference will also feature participation from The Hon. Jason Hayward, Bermuda’s Minister of Economy and Labour.

Helen Souza, consulting executive director of BCN, said the strong level of engagement ahead of the event reflected both the strength of Bermuda’s captive sector and demand for greater collaboration and knowledge sharing within the industry.

“We are incredibly encouraged by the level of engagement we are seeing as we approach this year’s conference,” Souza said. “It reflects not only the continued strength of Bermuda’s captive sector, but also a clear appetite for deeper connection, practical insight, and trusted peer exchange within our community.”
