Joly-Pottuz joined the company in 2016, most recently serving as deputy head of HDI Enablers and chief strategy and execution officer of HDI Global France. Prior to that, he served at AXA for four years, latterly as the capital manager for the Asia region.
Joly-Pottuz said: ”With HDI Enablers, we are complementing the HDI Global alternative risk transfer offering to corporations and providing our customers with access to innovative risk solutions that are perfectly tailored to their individual needs. Our goal is to help companies optimally manage their risks and strengthen their competitiveness.”
He added: “Our core business is in Europe, but at the same time we're also open to expand our business beyond. Potential markets such as the US and Asia are of interest to us. Malaysia, for example, is currently becoming a big domicile for captives. We are in contact with our connections there to determine whether or not there's an opportunity for us to go further.”
Thomas Kuhnt, member of the executive board at HDI Global SE, said: “In a world where risks are becoming increasingly complex, we find innovative ways to provide our customers with the best possible support, including ways that go beyond traditional insurance solutions. With Eric Joly-Pottuz, we have an experienced expert at the helm of HDI Enablers who will take our ART offering to a new level.
"We would like to thank his predecessor Etienne de Varax for his successful commitment in developing the unit into an important player in the field of alternative risk transfer in Europe within two years since its foundation. I am pleased that he will remain with the company as senior advisor until the end of 2024 before taking his well-deserved retirement."
