Aon exec joins Public Storage

Marshann Varley has been appointed senior vice president of insurance at Public Storage, the self-storage company headquartered in Glendale, California.

The company runs several captives, including PS Alani and Orange Door Insurance.

Varley joins from Aon, where she was managing director and resident sales director, overseeing Southern California and Las Vegas. Previously she spent over 15 years with Marsh and was its chief retention officer and producer unit leader. She is also a founding member of Chief, a private network focused on connecting and supporting women leaders across the US.

Varley will replace Capri Haga.

“A big thank you to Capri Haga, who is retiring on April 1st after 16 years at Public Storage and has grown the Orangedoor Insurance program to more than 1.1 million customers,” Varley wrote in an update. “I am looking forward to this next chapter in my career, which draws upon my roles in underwriting, brokerage, client management, captives, risk management and sales.”
