Aon launches new EB captive reinsurance

Aon has appointed Sven Roelandt to head a new global team supporting captives for employee benefits risks with issues around reinsurance. Roelandt, now global leader of captive EB services, has been with Aon since 2019 and was previously its global expert for EB financing strategies and carrier relations.

He is based in Antwerp.

Roelandt has long experience in employee benefits, starting as a consultant with Zurich Financial Services in 1997. He also held various positions with Generali Employee Benefits, most recently as regional manager for WEMEA. Immediately before joining Aon, he was director of Employee Benefits for Further in Madrid.

The news follows the appointment earlier this week of Graham McCarthy as Aon’s new director of client services for captive management and risk advisory.
