Mulready to speak at western region conference

Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready won't have far to go when he prepares to deliver the keynote speech at the Western Region Captive Insurance Conference - he will be welcoming delegates to his home state.

Mulready, the state's 13th insurance commissioner, is a former state legislator and longtime insurance professional. He was first elected to the state-wide position in 2019.

Mulready's background includes eight years as a state representative, where he quickly became the point person for the House of Representatives on insurance issues.

Mulready passed legislation that expanded insurance options and resulted in more insurance companies offering services in the state. Seeking to improve the Oklahoma business climate, he sponsored the Insurance Business Transfer (IBT) Act, now law and according to the WRCIC is recognised as one of the most innovative pieces of insurance legislation nationally.

The 2024 WRCIC will be held at the Tulsa Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, April 15-17, 2024.

According to the WRCIC: “The 2024 Conference will build on the momentum of last year's event in St. Louis and promises to be another great conference for the captive insurance industry to continue to collaborate, developing new strategies and learn about new industry trends.”
