New captive advisory firm launches in Kansas
A captive advisory firm called GuideFire has been launched by captive industry veteran Jesse Olsen (pictured).
GuideFire will provide and coordinate captive advisory, management, development, formation, and feasibility services. The firm’s model connects captives directly to decades of knowledge and experience for best-in-class advice and assistance.
“A common refrain from current and potential captive owners is their struggle to identify a partner able to lead planning and execute strategy for their captives,” explained Olsen. “I started GuideFire to help meet that need.
“Many captives have excellent service providers for the day-to-day but not so much the wherewithal to holistically increase the value proposition to captive owners. This demand from captive owners is growing more pronounced, and GuideFire intends to meet that need.”
GuideFire is based in the Kansas City metropolitan area and will initially focus on servicing captives domiciled in the USA.
Olsen started his twentieth year in the industry this month. He was most recently chief operating officer of Helio Risk and prior to that managing director on Strategic Risk Solutions’ consulting team. Olsen started in the insurance industry with Lockton Companies’ Risk Finance practice group.
“The captive industry is as robust as ever, and the demand for trustworthy advisors has never been higher,” he said. “I'm excited about the prospects for GuideFire.”
