Clafin moves to Fluid Truck

Courtney Claflin has been appointed head of insurance at Colorado-based truck transportation company Fluid Truck.

As head of insurance, Clafin’s new role is the design, development, implementation, and management of wholly owned captive insurance companies to most efficiently finance the organisational risks of Fluid Truck and its various subsidiary operations.

“I'm delighted to announce that I have joined an amazing, industry changing technology company, Fluid Truck, whose innovation and explosive growth is changing the transportation industry,” Clafin said in a statement. “I look forward to creating captive insurance companies and risk financing arrangements to most efficiently finance our organisational risks.”

Clafin was previously executive director of captive insurance programmes at the University of California for seven years, from 2015 until July of this year.

Prior to that he was national captive insurance practice leader at financial services company CBIZ from January 2022 to May 2014.
