Keoghs expands in Scotland
Keoghs, a Davies business, is continuing to expand its presence in Scotland with a number of strategic lateral hires and internal promotions growing its specialist team of experts by 50% over the last 12 months.
The firm has appointed two new partners, three associates, a further four claims handlers as well as its first ever trainees to its Glasgow office, as it focuses on growth in Scotland.
Joanne Farrell joined Keoghs as partner in 2022. Previously of BTO Solicitors LLP and Weightmans Glasgow, Farrell now heads up the Scottish arm of Keoghs’ specialist healthcare team, working closely with the wider healthcare team to expand this offering to the Scottish marketplace. She brings with her a wealth of experience in handling high value catastrophic and complex injury claims and medical malpractice claims.
In addition, partner Laura Baxendale, has been promoted to lead the firm’s abuse team in Scotland, allowing Keoghs to establish one of the largest nationwide abuse teams in the UK. Baxendale joined Keoghs in 2017 at the inception of its expansion into Scotland and focuses exclusively on abuse cases and issues of safeguarding acting on behalf of insurers and uninsured organisations. She has significant experience in dealing with high profile and sensitive cases against religious institutions, sports teams, schools and local authorities.
Keoghs Motor team has also grown in Scotland with David McLeod’s well-deserved internal promotion to Associate and Michelle Thorburn taking on the role of Team Leader. Four new claims handlers have also been appointed.
The Keoghs Casualty and Risk & Recovery teams have also grown through lateral hires with Associates, Rachel Walker and Liz Heaney, joining from Digby Brown LLP and DWF respectively. The first trainees have also joined the Glasgow branch with four currently in post and more due to join in the coming months.
