NRRA conference puts emerging risks in the spotlight

The National Risk Retention Association’s annual conference, which will take place October 1 through October 3 in Washington, DC, will put emerging risks in the spotlight. Sessions will focus on what risk retention groups must do to prepare for implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the growing threat of cyber-attacks.

Other topics will include the NRRA’s Amicus program, contractual liability and regulatory developments, along with reinsurance planning and risk management versus the trial bar.

Sandford Elsass, NRRA chairman, said: “More than half of the 250 risk retention groups operating today are in healthcare, so we’ll devote major attention at the conference to the Affordable Care Act and its challenges for our industry. With cyber security looming as an issue for companies of all sizes, the conference program will include a major session on how to guard against cyber-attacks and what to do in case of the breach.”
