XL Catlin names head of global programmes

XL Catlin's insurance operations has appointed Sonja Ochsenkuehn as head of global programmes.

The firm's global programmes has been a significant growth area, and led 70 percent of the nearly 3,500 global programmes.

Reporting to Philippe Gouraud, Xl Catlin's global head of strategic client and broker management, Ochsenkuehn will have direct responsibility over the global programme platform, with teams in New York, London, Zurich, Mexico City, Hong Kong, New Delhi and Vienna.

Ochsenkuehn has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, most recently serving as head of knwoeldge strategy and network guidenace at AIG.

Gouraud said: “We are delighted to welcome Sonja to our Global Programs team. She has a track record of thriving in roles with a multinational focus and for delivering innovation. Sonja is the latest addition to the significant investment in talent we have made this year to support the growth of our global program and captive business.

“We made the strategic decision to strengthen our team because we recognize our clients’ needs are changing and getting more complex, moving from the traditional risks, such as property and casualty programs, to include political violence and terrorism, supply chain disruption or cyber risks.”
