Holmes Murphy promotes three women to drive growth in the business

Holmes Murphy has promoted three women to new and advanced positions within the firm.

Ellen Willadsen becomes Holmes Murphy’s first chief innovation officer, after serving as chief financial officer (CFO) for the past 10 years.

Lindsay Chase replaces her as CFO, while Susan Hatten assumes the role of chief marketing officer.

Willadsen joined Holmes Murphy in 1995 and has played a key role in the organisation’s growth, increasing its profitability and providing counsel on major financial decisions. She was also instrumental in the startup of the Women Optimizing Women (WOW) initiative, which cares for the unique potential of women at Holmes Murphy and within the insurance industry.

Chase joined Innovative Captive Strategies (ICS), a subsidiary of Holmes Murphy, in 2006, and is a member of its executive team. In 2020, she was promoted to senior vice president of finance with Holmes Murphy.

Hatten joined Holmes Murphy in 2014 after leading business development for a marketing and advertising firm. She has been involved with Holmes Murphy sales, clients, marketing, and community culture.

Willadsen and Hatten have also helped build BrokerTech Ventures (BTV), the broker-led group and accelerator programme co-founded by Holmes Murphy, as its executive sponsor and chief operations officer, respectively.

Dan Keough, chairman and chief executive officer at Holmes Murphy, praised all three women.

“Ellen consistently exceeds expectations, tackles tasks with dedication and determination, and is an excellent thought leader,” he said. “Lindsay is truly an expert in her field and has a clear grasp on the financial vision and direction of Holmes Murphy.”

He added: “Given Susan’s breadth of expertise and knowledge at Holmes Murphy, within BTV and in the community, she is well positioned to take us to the next level with sales, brand, and communication experiences.”
