VCIA reveals details of February webinar

The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) is to hold its first Q1 2026 webinar, free with membership and eligible to non-membership with a paid registration. 

The webinar, which will feature the leadership team of Vermont DFR's Captive Division, will go ahead on February 18th at 2pm EST as newly confirmed Deputy Commissioner Christine Brown and colleagues go through important regulatory updates emphasising business plan changes, examinations and licensing. 

There will also be a question and answer session.

After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:

• Interpret the latest Vermont DFR licensing regulations and apply best practices for ensuring compliance in their organizations.

• Evaluate the implications of recent regulatory updates on business plan changes within their captive insurance entities.

• Apply/Implement best practices for preparing for and responding to Vermont DFR regulatory exams.

The panellists will include Christine Brown, Deputy Commissioner of Captive Insurance Division, Dan Petterson, Director of Captive Examinations and Jim DeVoe-Talluto, Assistant Director of Captive Insurance.

The webinar will be free for VCIA members. For non-members there will be a fee of $150 per person (groups of 3 or more people are $135 per person), but in order to qualify for the three or more rate, all members of the group must be registered at the same time. 

This webinar will be via computer only. No phone-in option is available. Full instructions will be sent to all registrants a few days prior to the webinar. Participants must be pre-registered/paid to participate in the webinar. There are no refunds permitted but advance substitutions are allowed. 

The deadline to register for the webinar is 17th February.
