Aon appoints new EMEA CEO for facultative reinsurance

Aon has announced the appointment of Mike Reid as EMEA chief executive of facultative reinsurance, effective July 1, 2026.

Reid assumes the role from Nick Fraccalvieri, who led facultative for EMEA for three years and was named global chief executive of facultative reinsurance for Aon in March.

According to Aon Reid will build on this strong foundation, continuing to deliver solutions that help shape better capital decisions for clients. Based in London, Reid will report to Tomas Novotny, EMEA chief executive and international chairman for reinsurance, and Fraccalvieri, as part of the global facultative leadership team.

Novotny said: “We place a strong emphasis on hiring talent that continues to differentiate Aon in the marketplace, drives momentum for our business and delivers client value. Mike is a great example of this approach, and we are excited to have him lead our EMEA Facultative Reinsurance team.”

Reid joins Aon from Sompo, where he served as head of UK property and casualty. He brings nearly 30 years of experience across the insurance industry and has led underwriting teams and portfolios across UK commercial insurance as well as international wholesale and specialty lines.

Reid said: “Aon is a recognised leader in the facultative sector and this role is a compelling opportunity to apply my experience and relationships to deliver innovative solutions to clients. I consider it a privilege to be joining such an established and successful team.”
