Fusion Specialty promotes managing partner & CUO

Fusion Specialty has promoted Samuel Shirley to the dual role of managing partner, M&A, Fusion Specialty UK, and global chief underwriting officer, M&A, effective immediately.

According to the company Shirley played a pivotal role in launching and establishing Fusion’s UK operation, joining as a senior partner in 2022 from Aviva, where he helped grow the insurer’s M&A business and transactional risk portfolio.

In his new position, he will support the business’s growth ambitions, by bringing his underwriting practices and technical expertise to bear across Fusion’s global business, which offers differentiated solutions for cross-continental transactions in the small to mid-market segment.
