Generali Employee Benefits Network (GEB) and Sensely have entered a strategic partnership to advance patient interactions through artificial intelligence and provide access to virtual health assistants (VHA).

VHAs are digitised interactive characters that respond to voice and onscreen commands through a multi-functional cloud-based platform. Sensely uses VHAs to help clients and insurance partners offer improved remote support.

The VHA interviews patients through an app and guides the patients to appropriate care within their local insurance plan’s network, accelerating patient access to relevant, timely and cost-effective care.

The partnership brings together GEB’s network capabilities with Sensely’s technology solutions, empowering businesses to become more resilient by ensuring the provision of best-in-class health solutions. The offering is led by Sergio Di Caro, head of the global business lines, strategy and business development team at Generali.

The providers said the partnership is particularly timely considering COVID-19 has made remote health provision more important than ever.

Eric Butler, health and wellness director, global business lines at GEB, said multinational employers demand benefit solutions that help support access to quality health care for employees and their dependents, while also managing rising healthcare costs.

“To respond to these market needs, GEB uses its considerable expertise to identify and vet leaders in the provision of digital and virtual health tools and services and then uses the power of its global footprint to negotiate preferred terms for its global clients,” he said.

Paolo Ribotta, chief executive officer at GEB and Global Health, said: "We are improving and extending the level of services available within our health and wellbeing offerings to further strengthen Generali’s market leadership in employee benefits for multinational companies, whilst also developing the health business for people with high international mobility.”

GEB is active in over 118 countries.
