Udo Kappes, the head of property & casualty, financial lines, group employee programs, reinsurance at Airbus Aeroassurances, and also the chairman of the European Captive Insurance and Reinsurance Owners Association (ECIROA), has announced that he is leaving Airbus.
In a brief announcement on LinkedIn Kappes did not say which company he has left Airbus to join, but did say that more information will be released on this in October.
Kappes has been at Airbus for more than two decades, having been appointed head of property insurances & reinsurance at Airbus Insurance Risk Management in February 2001. In 2016 he was appointed head of property & casualty, financial lines, group employee programs & reinsurance, again at Airbus Insurance Risk Management.
In 2018 he was appointed to the position he is now leaving at Airbus.
Kappes has been chairman of ECIROA since November 2015. In March this year he was appointed to the board of the Captive Insurance Companies Association.
