Zurich makes a series of appointments in North America

Zurich North America has hired Sonia Kundi as its Canada chief risk officer. Meanwhile, Kim Jordan and Jim Heintz have been promoted to the roles of regional vice president for the US South region and underwriting manager for the US South Central areas, respectively.

Kundi joins Zurich from Aviva Group, where she was a senior enterprise risk management leader with more than 15 years of global insurance experience across the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia.

In her new role she reports to North America chief risk officer Colleen Zitt. She becomes a member of her leadership team. She is also a member of the Zurich Canada executive committee and is based in Toronto and serves as a risk champion at various committees, providing management reporting and support to local regulatory risk requirements.

Jordan joined Zurich in 2017 as a middle market underwriting manager in the South Region and has 30 years of experience in the industry, including underwriting leadership roles at Travelers in middle market, national accounts and construction.

She assumes responsibility for driving the success of Zurich’s middle market book of business in the region, including cultivating distributor and customer relationships and developing underwriting talent. Jordan reports to John Diaz, chief operating officer for the US middle market at Zurich North America.

Heintz joined Zurich in 2010 and has held a variety of roles in sales and distribution and claims, before most recently serving as a senior middle market underwriter and team lead. In his new post he reports to Jordan and is responsible for managing underwriters and cultivating key distributor relationships in this territory.

Both Jordan and Heintz have been working in these roles on an interim basis since January.
