Atlas EVP joins Hawaii captive manager as president

First Insurance Company of Hawaii (FICOH), a Hawaii P&C insurer which offers captive management services through its subsidiary First Risk Management Services (FiRMS), has appointed Lance Kawano as president of FiRMS and vice president of FICOH.

Kawano has over 25 years of experience in financial services and insurance, and most recently served as executive vice president of operations at Atlas Insurance Agency.

At Atlas he held a number of positions including senior vice president of its personal lines division, and prior to that vice president.

Prior to that, Kawano has worked for FICOH as a personal lines manager for three years.

“Lance brings his skills as an experienced manager and insurance expert to our senior management team,” said Jeffrey Shonka, FICOH president and CEO. “His unique background will be a major asset to FICOH and FiRMS as we work to deliver the best possible solutions and service to our customers.”
