The Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) has released the latest monthly figures for the number of re/insurers and other entities registered on the island.
According to the BMA February saw two restricted special purpose insurers (SPIs) registered on Bermuda, First Coast Re IV and Lightning Re.
In addition Aspis Insurance Company, a type 2 re/insurer, was also registered.
Another three insurance applications were reviewed and approved, the BMA said, but have not yet progressed to registration and may be confirmed going forwards in future months.
The new entrants take the total number of new registrants on Bermuda to seven, following the four others that registered in January.
25 June 2026 Greg Lang, founder of the Reinsurance and Insurance Network (RAIN), continues his look at the numbers in the captive insurance industry, this time focusing on captive managers.
