BMS adds to cargo team for US business
BMS has announced that Andrew Hutchings and Louise Rothschild will join its cargo team, after fulfilling their current contractual obligations.
Based in London, Hutchings and Rothschild will report to Mark Lawson, managing director of BMS North American Direct and Facultative.
BMS stated that in their new roles, Hutchings and Rothschild will be responsible for building out dedicated cargo and stock throughput activities for BMS’ US intermediary client base.
An industry veteran, Hutchings brings to BMS more than 30 years of experience in the cargo insurance market. His most recent role was as a divisional director in the cargo division at Price Forbes & Partners, where he worked for 7 years, specializing on North American stock throughput business.
Rothschild has been in the industry for nearly two decades and has specialised in marine for more than 15 years. In her previous role, she focused on sourcing and maintaining client relationships in addition to negotiating deals in Lloyd’s and the London market.
“Andrew and Louise are highly respected and experienced industry professionals,” said Lawson. “Their combined knowledge of the cargo market will be an invaluable asset to BMS and aligns perfectly with our existing US wholesale P&C and specialty insurance teams. I look forward to welcoming them to the team.”
Ian Gormley, UK chief executive of BMS, added: “With these appointments we are demonstrating our dedication to building out our London specialty capabilities, while simultaneously supporting our US retailer client base.
