Mead: Vermont roadshow in Mexico achieving goals
Kevin Mead, the president of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA), has said that the Mexico City roadshow on captives is going well.
Mead commented that: “I can safely say that two days into our trade mission, we are achieving the goals that we set ourselves. The audience of over 100 today were asking great questions - about the administration of captives and their regulation in Vermont, about tax and regulatory implications in Mexico and on the first steps needed to explore this tool for effective risk management.”
The trade mission is a collaborative effort with the US Commercial Service, the trade and promotion arm of the US Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, and Vermont’s Department of Economic Development via its State Trade and Expansion Program, a program funded by the Small Business Administration.
Before the roadshow took place Mead told Captive International that the event’s primary goal was education, and to give Mexico-based business executives, insurance professionals and brokers an insight into the dynamic world of captives so that they may consider it as a potential tool for their own risk management needs.
