Aon promotes Healy to lead global captives
Well-known captive manager Ciaran Healy has been named global captive leader for commercial risk solutions, effective January 1.
And John English, currently CEO of Aon Captive & Insurance Management will be appointed chairman of Aon Global Risk Consulting (AGRC).
Healy will focus on accelerating the group’s core capabilities for clients, including captive management, captive advisory, captive reinsurance, insurance linked securities and protected cell companies. He will lead a team of more than 500 colleagues, predominately in North America and EMEA regions. Healy will be based in Dublin and report to Richard Waterer, Global Leader of AGRC.
Waterer said: “Ciaran is a highly effective, client-centric and commercially driven leader with great experience to build on the momentum we’re seeing in the captive space and the increasingly central role that captives will assume in Aon’s broader Risk Capital strategy across Reinsurance and Commercial Risk.
“Under Ciaran’s leadership, Aon’s captive team will deliver further innovation as our clients increasingly turn to options outside the traditional insurance market to protect and grow their businesses.”
Healy has over 20 years of captive management and risk financing experience, most recently serving as chief commercial officer for AGRC and previously as client solutions director for Aon’s captive solutions in EMEA.
Healy joined Aon Insurance Managers in Dublin in 2007, and also worked in consulting roles at EY and WTW before returning to Aon as director client solutions for EMEA in 2019.
Healy has been chief commercial officer for EMEA within Aon Global Risk Consulting since December 2022.
