ArcelorMittal appoints group head of insurance

Steel and mining multinational ArcelorMittal has appointed a new group head of insurance.

Marina Muniz as succeeds Laurent Nihoul in the role at ArcelorMittal, who has now taken up the role of FERMA CEO. Nihoul was last month recognised for his achievements in the industry with the Outstanding Contribution Award at the 2025 Captive Review European Awards.

Muniz has spent over two decades in the insurance industry, including the last three years with ArcelorMittal as an insurance manager – group insurance, based out of Luxembourg.

Prior to that she had worked in Brazil her entire career, including eight years at AIG, seven years as a risk and insurance senior manager at Odebrecht Corretora de Seguros, and two years as a risk and insurance real estate regional manager for South America at industrial machinery multinational thyssenkrupp.
