Bulkowski joins Raybshteyn and Phillips at Alvarez & Marsal
James Bulkowski has joined Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) as a senior director. He has been a core part of EY’s insurance team for more than two decades, becoming a prominent figure in the captive space.
Following the departures of Mikhail Raybshteyn and Paul Phillips from that EY team to A&M earlier this year, EY had restructured their leadership, with Bulkowski given a newly created role as risk management and insurance mergers & acquisitions (M&A) lead within the captive group.
Bulkowski will now join Raybshteyn and Phillips at A&M. Raybshteyn explained to Captive Review at last week’s Captive Review US Conference in Chicago the group’s insurance offering, and the opportunities he sees for A&M to serve captives.
Announcing Bulkowski’s new appointment on LinkedIn, A&M said it was looking forward to his contributions and continuing to expand its capabilities. They said he has “over 25 years of experience advising companies ranging from middle market to large enterprises across every sector on traditional and alternative risk financing, captive insurance, and strategic tax solutions.”
They also praised his “strong track record of leading complex transactions, developing innovative risk transfer strategies and delivering measurable financial results.”
