R&Q Captive Management is a Division of Randall & Quilter Investment Holdings Ltd.


The Division manages all types of captives including Protected Cell Companies, Segregated Account Companies, Risk Retention Groups and 831(b)s. Other core services offered are Captive formation and management; Program management; and Exit solutions.


R&Q Captive Management is independently owned and managed to offer balanced advice to clients, uncluttered by any consideration of ownership or domicile.

The ‘live’ underwriting division of the Group supporting both the Managing General Agent and Lloyd’s platforms at R&Q. By focusing on the disciplines associated with underwriting, the Underwriting Management Division is well placed to respond to the demands of the global insurance market and to underwriting opportunities that become available.

R&Q Insurance Services

Provides a range of services to the live and legacy (re)insurance markets to support growing businesses and address problematic run-off issues. With over 200 highly experienced and motivated technicians the Insurance Services Division has the scope to bring added value to any project or resource requirement in Europe or the US.

Tim is Head of R&Q’s Captives Division which has Captive Management capabilities in Bermuda, US, Norway and Gibraltar.

Previously the MD of Axiom Consulting Ltd (2007-09) and MD of both Argenta Syndicate Management Ltd (2001-07) and Sedgwick Lloyd’s Underwriting Agents Ltd (1996-2000).

His sector expertise includes the establishment of underwriting platforms, Lloyd’s Managing Agency management, MGA management, Insurance Service Company management, Capital Raising and Business Development. Tim is a past Chairman of the Lloyd’s Underwriting Agents’ Association and he has sat on a number of Lloyd’s working groups, including the Lloyd’s Chairman’s Strategy Group in 2002.
