​​Captive Resources is an independent group captive insurance consultant dedicated to empowering businesses to lower their total cost of risk and develop safer workplaces.

For more than four decades, we have provided mid-market companies with the opportunity to become owners of their own insurance company rather than buyers of insurance policies, helping them lower their total cost of risk. We do this through the creation, development, and oversight of member-owned group captive insurance companies.

Alongside our decades of Casualty-captive experience, we have supported Medical Stop Loss (MSL) group captives since 2011 to help companies self-fund their employer-sponsored health insurance in a stable environment alongside other best-in-class, engaged employers.

We currently advise more than 50 group captives, including several MSL group captives, comprising more than 7,700 member-companies and over $5.7 billion in annual premium. These captives have returned more than $3.9 billion in dividends to their member-owners since inception.

Our unique services include Casualty and MSL group captive consulting, group captive premium financing, and umbrella support services. We support every aspect of the captives we advise — from claims advocacy to operational oversight, risk management, financial services, regulatory compliance, investment services, and more — to ensure each captive is exceptionally well run, financially sound, and well positioned for the future.

Rani joined Captive Resources in April 2024, bringing more than two decades of experience serving large and mid-market companies. He leads the Business Development Executive (BDE) team and manages key broker relationships. He is responsible for driving business development strategy and execution across Captive Resources’ Property & Casualty business.
