CTCIA to host Connecticut captive innovation evening

Connecticut's captive insurance laws were updated again in 2025 for the fifth year in a row and the Connecticut Captive Insurance Association (CTCIA) is holding a special event showcasing the latest innovation in Connecticut's captive insurance industry.

The event will be on Thursday, November 20th at 3:30 - 5:30pm EST at the Connecticut State Capitol Building.

The CTCIA event will explore modern changes in insurance, tax and accounting that have been made since Connecticut adopted its captive insurance statute in 2011, including the recently passed Public Act 25-130: An Act Concerning Captive Insurance.

Guest speaker Ed Malaspina, president & chief executive of HAI Group, will speak about the innovative applications of captive insurance that have propelled HAI Group forward in their mission to support and sustain affordable housing.

The event will be followed by a networking reception to allow attendees to foster new and existing connections with leadership from the Connecticut Insurance Department, local insurance and business professionals, and CTCIA members at a reception immediately following the afternoon's programming.
