DARAG Partners with Unipol and Davies to manage UK motor runoff portfolio

DARAG Group has announced the signing of a service contract with leading Italian insurer, Unipol Assicurazioni S.p.A. (Unipol). Unipol Assicurazioni is the parent company of the Unipol Group, one of the leading insurance groups in Europe as well as being leader in Italy in the non-life insurance business (especially MV and health).

DARAG Deutschland AG (DAG) is partnering with Davies Group, the specialist professional services and technology company, to manage and service all claims related to the runoff of a UK motor portfolio reinsured by Unipol. The agreement sees DARAG contracted to deliver the optimum solution for the management of Unipol’s UK motor business.

As DARAG capitalises on its expert claims management in the UK, this deal represents a natural development in the expansion of the Group’s services and business model; expanding DARAG’s offerings of unique local claims expertise to strategic clients, in the process generating valuable fee-based revenue.

DARAG said that this offering adds to its tailor-made solutions for each client, whereby it offers pure operational relief as a stand-alone or as a precursor to a more traditional legacy solution, when it acquires the portfolio as principal.
