Giles leaves MSL Captive Solutions

Phillip Giles has announced his resignation from MSL Captive Solutions, (MSLCS). His departure took effect on March 29, 2024.

Giles was a co-founder of the company and has served as a managing director of MSLCS since its formation in February 2020.

“I felt that, at this stage of the firm's evolution, this would be a good time for me to move on from MSLCS,” Giles told Captive International.

“I have recently been presented with some very intriguing opportunities, each of which I am currently evaluating. Over the next few months, I expect to serve in an advisory capacity on some independent projects and then plan on a reappearance within the stop loss captive industry as those projects conclude.”

Giles said that over the past four plus years, he had enjoyed the challenge of creating, building, and leading MSLCS. He added that he is leaving MSLCS at a time when the company has exceptional market momentum and is well-positioned for continued success.

Andrew Berry, president, MSL Captive Solutions, commented: “We have enjoyed working with Phil at MSLCS and wish him well in his future endeavors. He leaves the company in a strong position with the recent addition of a new underwriting team, and we are looking forward to the next phase of the company’s growth.”

Giles has more than 30 years of accident and health and property and casualty alternative risk experience.

He was named Cayman Reinsurance Specialist of the Year by Captive International magazine in 2019 and again in 2021. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University, as well as the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist professional designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
