MOCIA expands board with new addition

The Missouri Captive Insurance Association (MOCIA) has expanded by welcoming Ellen Sue Bernards to its board. 

Bernards is senior vice president in the Alternate Risk Finance Practice at Lockton Companies. 

She started at Lockton in Los Angeles as an assistant vice president of risk finance in February 2015 and was promoted to vice president in 2019. She became a senior price president in June 2022 in Kansas City.

Prior to that she was a controller at Outsource, LLC, from December 2013 to January 2015, in Los Angeles, California.

In a statement on LinkedIn Sam Komo, Captive Insurance Manager at the Missouri Department of Commerce & Insurance, said: “Originally from Southern California, [Bernards] now calls Kansas City home, and as part of the residency requirements; is officially a Kansas City Chiefs fan! Welcome to the team Ellen.”
