New captive director at Volkswagen Insurance Company

Darren Collopy (pictured) has been appointed captive insurance director at Volkswagen Insurance Company Dac.

He has already taken up his new position and is based in Dublin.

Collopy told Captive International: “I look forward to working with the Volkswagen Insurance Company team, the VW brands and insurance market partners.”

Collopy was previously Direct Motor Manager (Ireland) at Liberty Insurance Ireland from May 2022 to January 2024, again in Dublin, Ireland. 

Prior to that, he was a motor fleet reinsurance underwriter at ALD Re dac, the reinsurance company of ALD Automotive Group, from January 2018 to May 2022.
