New MS Amlin hire to focus on risk management
MS Amlin has announced the appointment of Andrew Fish as head of exposure management.
In his role, Fish will lead a team of 35 and will be responsible for enhancing the company’s risk management and pricing strategies through advanced modelling and analytics. He will also focus on assessing the impact of emerging risks, including climate change, cyber threats, and geopolitical volatility. His appointment follows MS Amlin’s 2024 partnership with Moody’s RMS, a leading global provider of catastrophe risk modelling and solutions, reinforcing the company’s investment in cutting-edge analytics and insights.
According to the company Fish brings extensive experience from across the market. He joins from Aon, where he spent the past four years as head of global re specialty (GRS) catastrophe management, supporting GRS clients across property specialty (D&F and Retro) and specialty lines. Prior to this, he was head of catastrophe pricing and analytics at QIC Global Services until 2021, overseeing the catastrophe pricing function across multiple QIC entities, including Qatar Re, Antares Syndicate, and QEL. His earlier career includes roles at Aon, where he focused on the origination and structuring of insurance-linked securities (ILS) transactions such as catastrophe bonds and sidecars.
Martin Burke, MS Amlin’s chief underwriting officer, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Andrew to MS Amlin as head of exposure management. His deep expertise and market experience will be invaluable as we continue helping our clients manage complex and evolving catastrophe risks. With the world facing increasingly dynamic challenges, from climate to cyber, his leadership will elevate our ability to combine analytics with insight and build long-term client relationships.”
