Towle to give keynote speech at Zurich Captive Dialogue Day
The Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) has announced that President Dan Towle will deliver the keynote address at Zurich Captive Dialogue Day on June 23, 2026, at the Zurich Development Center in Zurich, Switzerland. This invitation-only conference brings together captive owners, risk managers, industry leaders, and insurance professionals from across Europe and around the world to explore emerging trends and strategic opportunities in captive insurance.
This year's conference theme, ‘Turning Uncertainty into Strategy,’ focuses on how organisations can navigate an increasingly complex risk environment through innovation, resilience, and alternative risk financing solutions.
Towle's keynote, “The Golden Age of Captive Insurance,” will provide a global perspective on the forces shaping the future of the captive insurance industry, including evolving risk exposures, geopolitical uncertainty, regulatory developments, talent challenges, technological innovation, and the growing role of captives as strategic business tools.
“Captive insurance is no longer viewed simply as an insurance financing mechanism,” said Towle. “Around the world, captives are increasingly being recognised as strategic assets that help organisations address emerging risks, improve resilience and create long-term value. As risk becomes more complex and interconnected, captives are uniquely positioned to provide solutions where traditional markets often fall short.”
Towle will also discuss the industry's continued expansion across Europe, North America, and other global markets, as well as the importance of maintaining credibility, transparency, and strong regulatory relationships as the industry continues to grow.
“We are living through a period of unprecedented opportunity for captive insurance,” Towle added. “Organisations are facing challenges ranging from cyber threats and supply chain disruption to climate-related exposures and geopolitical uncertainty. Captives have proven their value in helping businesses navigate these risks, and the industry's future has never been more promising. At the same time, we must continue to advocate for sound public policy, invest in education, and demonstrate the important role captives play in strengthening risk management worldwide.”
As the only domicile-neutral captive insurance association, CICA serves as a global resource for captive owners, service providers, regulators, and industry stakeholders. Through education, advocacy, networking, and thought leadership initiatives, CICA works to advance understanding of captive insurance and promote best practices throughout the industry.
In recent years, CICA has expanded its international engagement through partnerships with captive associations, risk management organisations, and industry leaders around the world. The association also continues to lead advocacy efforts in Washington, DC, bringing together members and industry partners to educate policymakers on the value, legitimacy, and importance of captive insurance as a risk management solution.
“We’re delighted to welcome Dan as this year’s keynote speaker,” said Adriana Scherzinger, Group Head of Captives at Zurich Insurance Group. “Dan is one of the most respected voices in the global captive industry. His clear view of industry trends, advocacy priorities and strategic opportunities will give the participants valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
