Veteran risk manager joins Kongsberg as VP of insurance

Fredrik Finnman, who has held senior roles in risk management at Sandvik and ASSA ABLOY, has joined Kongsberg as vice president of insurance.

Finnman has more than 20 years of international experience across industrial groups, insurance markets, and captive environments. He is an ECIROA board member and previously been a director and board member of CICA. He was also president of SWERMA, the association for risk and insurance professionals in Sweden.

At Kongsberg, he is responsible for the group’s global insurance programmes across a international industrial footprint. The role spans both strategic and operational aspects of corporate insurance, including programme structure, governance, and alignment with business needs across multiple divisions.

In a post on LinkedIn, he said: “After many rewarding years in different roles across risk and insurance, it feels both energizing and motivating to take on a new challenge in such a strong and forward-looking industrial group.

“Kongsberg combines deep technical expertise with a truly global business, and I look forward to contributing to the continued development of its insurance and risk capabilities together with great colleagues across the organisation.”
