Zurich promotes ex-PartnerRe underwriter to captives role

Zurich Insurance has promoted Melinda Pontos (pictured) to head of captive underwriting in its  Zurich Global Employee Benefits Solutions unit. 

Pontos joined ZGEBS in 2021 as a senior captive underwriter, responsible for the underwriting of some of ZGEBS’s largest captive customers.

Before joining Zurich, Melinda was at PartnerRe based in Zurich where her role was leading the Group Protection portfolio for the UK and Ireland business.

“As the Head of Captive Underwriting, Melinda will now take on the responsibility of leading the ZGEBS Captive Underwriting team. Her objective is to strengthen the underwriting proposition, support new growth opportunities, and deliver underwriting excellence to captives,” Zurich said in a post on LinkedIn. 

ZGEBS fall under the umbrella of Zurich Integrated Benefits, which brings together the various businesses providing global employee benefits, including cross-border corporate savings and risk solutions.
